Scripture verses on Right Thinking




We all have the capacity to think. That’s why we are humans.
Whether our thoughts produce the right results or not, depends on the quality and nature of those thoughts.
Our personality is a sum total of how we think.
Several scriptural verses show the importance of this.


Below are 20 scriptural verses on right thinking:

1.       Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. – Proverbs 4:23.


2.      For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. – Proverbs 23:7.


3.      I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health. – 3John 2.


4.       Thou will keep in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you. – Isaiah 26:3.


5.      Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4: 8. 


6.      The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the just are pleasant words. – Proverbs 15: 26.


7.       And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. – Romans 12:2.


8.      This book shall not depart out of your mouth, but thou shall meditate therein day and night that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous and thou shall have good success. - Joshua 1: 8.


9.       God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Timothy 1:7.


10.      Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye more kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. – Ephesians 4: 31- 32.


11.      Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. – Proverbs 16: 3. 


12.       For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. -2Corinthians 10: 4- 5.


13.      Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable unto you, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. – Psalm 19:4.


14.     Then they that feared the Lord spake one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name. – Malachi 3: 16.


15.     Through wisdom is a house built, and by understanding it is established:  And by knowledge shall the chamber be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. – Proverbs 24: 3.


16.     For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your ways, and my thoughts your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bud to give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be the goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it. – Isaiah 55: 8- 11.


17.     Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known unto God. – Philippians 4: 6.


18.    Cast thy burden upon the Lord and He will sustain thee: He will never suffer the righteous to be moved. – Psalm 55: 22.


19.     For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. – Jeremiah 29: 11.


20.    Love thinks no evil. – 1Corinthians 13: 5.
