The power to hold on

The power to hold on

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living - Psalm 27:13.
Life is full of challenges.
There are circumstances that confront us that may be quite overwhelming.

What are the challenges you are facing today?

They could be financial, health, marital, occupational and so on.in all these, you can overcome and come out stronger if you don't give up.
issues of life may make us want to despair, be discouraged, sink under and fret.

No matter what life throws at you - don't substitute faith for fear, action for inaction, belief for unbelief, power for weakness.

5 things to do to live victoriously in any situation:
  1. Believe to see the goodness of the Lord. You must come to the place where you fix your thoughts on God's ability and goodness.

To believe is to see your challenges from God's perspective. This exercise eliminates fear, feeling of inadequacy and powerlessness.

It builds courage that will make you strong and not cave in.

  2.  Acknowledge God as your Light and Salvation. Be acquainted with the ways of God as revealed in His Word. He gives direction. You need His direction to navigate various situations of life.
  3.  Be expectant. Have a positive outlook and know that things will turn out ultimately for your good. See opportunities in challenges. What you think is a problem today may be a stepping stone to a greater future.
  4.  Cultivate the atmosphere of God's presence through praise and gratitude.                           Gratitude is a high expression of faith in God's provision.                                                            You create an atmosphere of peace and power when you praise God in every situation.                                                                                                                               Expressing gratitude for the little things creates opportunities for more. For God inhabits the praises of His people.
  5. Live a prayerful life.                                                                                                             Everyone who desires victory ought always to pray and not faint. Spend time to pray for strength to do your tasks. A time of prayer is not wasted time.
In everything be encouraged and keep moving forward. Take purposeful and deliberate steps and don't give up.
Things can change for your good at any time if you don't give up.

Delight yourself in the Lord

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
      Psalms 37: 4.

To delight is to be happy, satisfied and joyful.

These states are so essential in every situation and more so in the
times we live in.

The world is faced with a seemly helpless situation and there is the
a tendency to feel overwhelmed, if we focus on the things that we are
confronted with daily – things that constantly struggle for our attention.

The truth is - whatever we are faced with right now is subject to
change.

No condition is permanent and the direction our situation takes is
dependent on what we choose to do.

Our light affliction is but for a moment and works for us a far more
exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Let us learn to walk in the light of God’s word.

To delight in God is to delight in His word.
God commands us to delight ourselves in His word, and it is for our own
good.

Five reasons you should delight in God’s word:

  1.      It is a command and not a suggestion. God’s words are laws – they are unchanging.
Our wise policy is to align ourselves with His laws.

2   Joy and peace are the right state of mind, greatly essential for victorious life.Without peace,
we will be mostly miserable. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

 3.       It brings healing to our body. Research has shown that joy increases our state of immunity.
Heaviness of the heart makes it sick, but a good word is uplifting.

4.       The Spirit of God is the Spirit of joy. As a child of God, His nature is imparted into you.
You can exhibit the fruit of the spirit – one of which is joy.

5.       With the constant expression of joy, you can partake of God’s salvation.
Joy is the highest expression of faith. Our comfort in God is expressed by our
      delight of His word.

Three ways we can delight ourselves in God’s word:

1.      1.   Give attention to the Word. Our spirit and mind need to feed on the right mental nutrition.
We act on what we constantly feed on. Incorporating the word of God, therefore, into
our basic mental process is the wise thing to aim at.

2.       2.  Spend at least 20 minutes of your day, preferably morning time to meditate
and ponder on the scriptures. See yourself conforming more and more to the Word.

3.       3.   Have a quality time of prayer. Prayer is communicating with your maker.
We need His guidance daily to navigate the various challenges that
             confront us
