The Benefits of Waiting on the Lord

The Benefits of Waiting on the Lord

Waiting is something we struggle with most of the time. We long that our expectations must be met immediately or we will lose hope and get disheartened.

However, we are told to wait on the Lord and we know that God's commands are not harsh, but rather intended to benefit us.

Everything God commands you to do is always for your benefit, even if it appears to contradict natural order.

We can't accomplish anything without God. According a Christian Bible verse - unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman watches in vain. We need God's power and assistance in all we do.

Waiting on God is relying on Him and His strength because He is faithful and we know that it is impossible for Him to lie.

It is about holding on to God's promises through meditation on the promises, prayers and worship until you see the results - regardless of the situation you are in.

It is a very fulfilling activity, and if you want to advance in the things of God, you must study and practice this virtue.

Meaning of waiting on the Lord

The dictionary defines wait as - to stay in expectation; it means to look forward expectantly.

Scriptural waiting is not a passive activity, nor is it a justification to be complacent. It is a demonstration of trust in God's capabilities and an expression of boldness and trust in Him.

Waiting on the Lord does have the following benefits:

- Renews your strength.

- You develop a strong godly attitude and character .

- Access God's blessings.

- The source of heavenly strength and tranquility.

- Source of mercy, safety and provision.

- Eliminates fear and anxiety.

- You receive divine guidance and godly wisdom.
