What does the Bible say about faith?
In Hebrews 11:1, faith is described as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
Faith therefore is a firm conviction of things not visible to the physical senses, but are non-the-less real.
The dictionary also defines faith as confidence or trust in a person or thing.
God requires us to have complete trust and confidence in Him and His Word.
How is faith developed?
Bible faith is a gift and it comes from God, through His Word. Romans 10:17 states that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Faith grows through consistent corresponding actions on the word of God.
Why faith is so
important:
Some of the reasons why you need faith are:
- That is the only way you can please God (Hebrews 11:6).
- Faith gives strength to overcome adversities (Psalm 27:13).
- Faith overcomes fear (Joshua 1:9).
- Faith is the foundation for salvation (Ephesians 2:8).
- It is the driving force of all achievements (Luke 1:37).
Life is full of unknowns, and only through complete confidence and trust in the Creator of life can you navigate through various situations and circumstances that may confront you.
It is my prayer that the following Bible verses will give you the strength and grace to overcome every situation that you may encounter now or in future.
