40 Inspiring Bible Verses about Faith in Tough Times

40 Inspiring Bible verses about Faith in Tough Times

Tough times come to everyone at one time or the other. The outcome during the times of difficulties is often dependent on our exercise of faith.

Robert Schuller said - ‘Tough times never last but tough people do’.

Jesus says ‘in this life you shall have tribulations, be of good cheer I have overcome the world’.

We need active faith to ride over every storm of life.

The dictionary defines faith as complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

Our faith and trust in God is what gives us the victory.

God will use every adversity as opportunity to advance you.

Don’t be disappointed and upset about difficulties but see them as a chance to display God’s power.

I pray that the following scriptures will offer you strength, hope and power to excel in challenging times.

MATTHEW 21:21

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

MARK 11: 22-24

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Bible Verses about Overcoming Trials

There are many challenges that confront everyone in life and except you have a reliable support system you will be overwhelmed by the trials that come your way.

The word of God provides the strength you need to overcome adversities and not be consumed by them.

We have not been promised a trouble-free life, but rather we are certain of victory when we put our trust in the Lord.

God uses every trial or trouble as an opportunity to develop you and make you strong, in the same way a body-builder works out against resistance to develop his muscles.

He uses our trials and unpleasant situations as one of the ways to develop your character – mainly  patience and endurance.

Meditating on the scriptures offers the strength and the grace you need to persevere and come out triumphantly.

If you are going through any challenge, the following scriptures will encourage you to keep trusting and never give up. And if not, you still need to build yourself up and fortify yourself against any future challenge that may arise.

Bible Verses about Wisdom

What is wisdom?

The dictionary defines wisdom as the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.

We are confronted daily with the need to make decisions, and the choices we make today will have a definite impact on our future. You may accumulate a great deal of knowledge and it will be of no benefit without the ability to apply the knowledge in overcoming life’s challenges.

There are 2 kinds of wisdom – godly wisdom and worldly wisdom.

Reverence and fear of God is the foundation of godly wisdom. Knowledge of God also produces understanding and spiritual insight.

On the other hand, worldly wisdom focuses on self and is uninterested about reverence for God. You may accomplish great things here on earth through worldly wisdom which will be of no eternal value. God’s wisdom is profitable to you for eternity.

Through wisdom, we see things from God’s perspective and order our actions in line with it.

What is the value of wisdom?

Wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it – Proverbs 8:11.

How do we gain godly wisdom?

We gain godly wisdom as we study and meditate on God’s word.

God has also given us the open invitation to ask for it. He said, ‘if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask – James 1:5.’

Benefits of godly wisdom:

The blessings of wisdom stated in Proverbs 3: 13- 18 include:

  • Happiness.
  • Long life.
