32 Powerful Bible Verses about Thankfulness

Thankfulness or thanksgiving is the joyful declaration of God's benefits or blessings on us or others.

The opposite of thankfulness is grumbling or murmuring, this contrary attitude will only lead to more misery and should be avoided as much as possible.

When you are tempted to murmur or grumble, remember the good things in your life and be grateful for them.

Powerful Bible Scriptures about Joy

Joy is defined as the emotion evoked by well being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.

The joy of the Lord is described as a supernatural confidence that God is sovereign, loving, and for us.

The knowledge that God is with you creates an inner peace and confidence which is the foundation of victorious living.

Joy can be expressed independent of your circumstances; and the attitude of joy strengthens your faith and creates in you the confidence that things will change for the better.

Joy is a powerful motivator; it is necessary ingredient in living a life of victory.

God wants you to rejoice always.

There is a difference between joy and happiness, joy is inherent and is independent of happenings, while happiness results from pleasant events.

You can be joyful in the midst of trials and temptations knowing that maintaining such attitude is essential to overcome them.

God’s promises are the foundation of joy. Prophet Jeremiah in the depths of confusion and discouragement found the key to this, saying ‘thy words were found and I did eat them, thy word was unto me the joy and the rejoicing of my heart’.
